SaffronArt and the Taj will strive to create an awareness about Indian Art by presenting a series of quality auctions, exhibitions and events across the globe. Our common objective to promote Indian Art and Culture internationally, will aid in building awareness and appreciation for India's heritage and artistic traditions. Our support of this travelling exhibit of recent works by Ram Kumar, is the beginning of this joint effort.

The Vorpal Gallery, now in its 40th year, represents artists from over 30 countries in a series of rotating exhibitions. The Vorpal Gallery is located in San Francisco's Civic Center area, one block west of the Opera House and the Davies Symphony Hall. A second location is in the SoHo area in New York City.

Vorpal Gallery's early acclaim was heightened by its introduction of the now internationally known Dutch graphic master M.C. Escher to the American public by a major exhibition in 1968 and again in 1970. A comprehensive retrospective following Escher's death in 1972 attracted more than 3,000 visitors on the opening day. The Vorpal Escher collection remains one of the world's most extensive and includes paintings, drawings, woodcuts, lithographs, and engravings.

Vorpal Gallery is also known for its large collection of the fantastical work of the British East African artist Jesse Allen. Allen was born in Kenya in 1936, educated at Oxford, and taught at Stanford University in the early sixties before leaving his academic career in 1964 to devote his time solely to painting and printmaking.

In 1979, Vorpal Gallery began to exhibit the work of the internationally esteemed Master of Mezzotint, Yoko Hamaguchi. Born and raised in Japan, Hamaguchi had been living in Paris since 1929. He moved to San Francisco in 1981 to work closely with Vorpal. Vorpal Gallery now maintains the world's largest collection of the great master's work.

In addition to these and many emerging contemporary artists, the Vorpal Gallery offers pieces from its collection of master works by Delacroix, Durer, Ensor, Gauguin, Goya, Homer, Manet, Monet, Picasso, Redon, Renoir and Rembrandt.

The current focus on contemporary painting, graphics, and sculpture has led Vorpal Gallery to organize such critically acclaimed exhibitions as New York/New Art, New Art in the West, Figuration Critique, Pablo Picasso-Two Hundred Works on Paper, Contemporary Mexican Artists, as well as numerous exhibitions of works by American artists.

IndoCenter of Art & Culture is a non-profit organization established in 2001 to present and support of the multi-disciplinary arts of modern and contemporary South Asia and of its diaspora. Centrally located in the heart of Chelsea, Manhattan's vibrant contemporary art scene, IndoCenter attracts a broad spectrum of audiences from the South Asian community, New York City at large, as well as visitors from all over the world.

Using the mirror of art and culture, IndoCenter fosters the free exchange of ideas and promotes mutual understanding among people of South Asian origin and a broad American public. IndoCenter offers a variety of educational and cultural programs ranging from exciting art exhibitions and diverse presentations in the literary, film and performing arts to timely programming addressing socio-political issues that affect South Asia and South Asian Americans."
