Editorial Manager
Reporting to: Editor-in-Chief
Location: Mumbai


We are looking for an Editorial Manager to join the Editorial team in our Mumbai office. The Editorial Manager will be responsible for writing well-researched and substantive articles on Indian art and artists, classical Indian art and antiquities, and other art-related fields for the Saffronart catalogues. They will also write and edit articles for all print and digital platforms. They should have excellent command over grammar and writing, good organisational skills, and the ability to adhere to tight deadlines. A background in art is highly desirable. Compensation offered is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities:

- Researching and producing high quality, well-written content for auction catalogues, press releases, the Saffronart website and blog, SEO and social media
- Working closely with Saffronart’s PR agency to identify news angles, adapt content for PR purposes, and address media requests
- Working closely with the marketing team to strategise and create content for email marketing
- Proofreading, editing, and ensuring tonal consistency across communication channels
- Checking accuracy of sources and research material
- Sourcing archival material and securing permissions when required
- Reviewing legal clauses governing sales and amending as required
- Reviewing data on market share

Skills and Experience:

- Background in art, writing, journalism, or a related field
- Excellent command over grammar and writing
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work within tight deadlines
- A positive attitude and flexible approach to various requirements

E-commerce Interns for StoryLTD.com
Location: Mumbai

We are looking for three highly motivated and enthusiastic interns to join the StoryLTD team in Mumbai. Educated to degree level, experience of working within the e-commerce sector is desirable, though not essential. This is a six-month, unpaid, full-time position effective immediately. iOS Developer
Location: Mumbai

We are looking for an iOS developer with a passion for constantly improving and innovating mobile technologies. You will work with our team of engineers to design and build the next generation of Saffronart’s mobile applications.

Responsibilities
- Design and build advanced applications for the iOS platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximise development efficiency

Core Requirements
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Proven working experience in software development
- Working experience in iOS development
- Have published one or more iOS apps in the app store
- A thorough familiarity with Objective-C and Cocoa Touch
- Experience working with iOS frameworks such as Core Data, Core Animation, Core Graphics and Core Text
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle

Software Engineer
Location: Mumbai

We are looking for tech leaders to conceptualise and build our auction platform and grow products and categories. The desired candidate will have a BS/MS in Computer Science or related degree, and/or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities:
- Building robust, scalable applications for the Saffronart website and mobile platform
- Serving as a lead technical resource in the full development cycle, end-to-end
- Executing development projects from conception, design, implementation and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance

Core Requirements:
- Fluency in one or more of the following: C++, Java, C#; and familiarity with one or more of: Python, Perl, Shell, Ruby
- Ability to work collaboratively with different teams
- Expertise in data structures, complex algorithms and object oriented programming
- Strong analytical, systems and architecture skills
- Working knowledge of web technologies such as IIS / Tomcat / Hibernate / Subsonic
- Experience with web development programme languages such as XHTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with .NET a plus

Gallery Assistant (Location: London)
As gallery assistant, you will be responsible for running day-to-day activities of the London gallery. The job will require liaising with other Saffronart offices on administrative and inventory matters. You will also be part of the client team and will assist with all auction related activity, from consigning artworks and cataloguing, to interacting with clients.

Requirements:
- University graduate, prior full-time work experience helpful but not a must
- A background in Indian art, either by academic training or by experience
- Excellent organisation skills and detail orientation
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (written and spoken)
- Good computer skills, including MS Excel and MS Power Point
- Excellent attitude and willingness to take on any task
- Right to work in the UK
