Equus: Paintings and Sculptures is a celebration of the deep and abiding bond between humans and horses. A bond that has evolved over time, this relationship has been an integral part of shaping our cultures and economies. Horses have been used for transportation, in armies, sports, agriculture, but, more pertinently, they have been friends and companions. Majestic, powerful, and intelligent, horses have captured the imagination of artists through the centuries. The paintings and sculptures in this exhibition bring together artistic representations of these amazing creatures seen through the eyes and imagination of a variety of artists using various mediums and are testament to this long-standing bond between human and horse.
