Saffronart Gallery
Saffronart opened the doors to its Gallery in Mumbai on the evening of October 30th,2003 with a definitive collection of works on paper by Francis Newton Souza, one of India's leading modernists. The gallery is an exceptional exhibition space that offers not only a large display area, but also a lounge where visitors can browse through material related to the current exhibition and reference books for use by prior appointment. The Gallery will be open from 11: 00 am to 6: 30 pm Monday through Saturday.

Saffronart has made reach to Indian art simple and instantaneous by combining a series of critically acclaimed international exhibitions, events, and auctions, together, with a strong on-line presence. The website, www.saffronart.com, has extended the company's traveling exhibits and art activities beyond their physical locations by providing convenient access to an extensive range of art for sale, along with detailed information on artists, interviews, exhibitions, events and more. The on-line catalogue has several thousand artworks from established and emerging artists, each delivered virtually anywhere in the world, accompanied by a SaffronArt authenticity certificate.

Promoting Indian Art & Culture
As part of its ongoing endeavor to provide the most accurate and timely information on Indian artists, movements, and even investments, Saffronart has closely been involved with, and supports art and cultural communities. This includes sponsorship and participation with: the National Gallery of Modern Art in Mumbai, the Sir J.J. School of Art, which has produced some of the finest Indian artists of the 20th century, local art festivals such as the Kala Ghoda Art Festival, several individual artists as well as group exhibitions and seminars, and visual and performing arts events.

Introductory Note on The Guild

The Guild Art Gallery was founded in late 1997 by Shalini H. Sawhney. The Guild was established with an objective of identifying and supporting emerging younger artists. Over the years The Guild has built up a stable of progressive cutting edge artists. Intermittently The Guild has mounted historically important shows emphasising certain stream of art which needed to be explored and pushed forward. Notable among these have been - Drawing show, The Active Line - Five Idioms of Drawing, Words and Images show. The Guild has also been active in showing works of renowned artists of India, including Akbar Padamsee, S. H. Raza, Krishen Khanna, Jehangir Sabavala, Jogen Chowdhury, K.G. Subramanyan, Paritosh Sen. The Guild will continue to present intriguing new artists while continuing to promote the artists it has first established. The Guild has been instrumental in helping to build up important collections for a number of collectors.
