Joshagan rugs are made in the town of Joshaghan and the nearby villages in the province of Isfahan in north central Iran. Joshaghan rugs are woven both in villages and in workshops. Joshaghan rugs are mostly geometric they have a central medallion and are filled with floral motifs. This is an unusual rug though it still maintains the floral motif, the treatment is different.The flowers in vases and arranged in neat rows and placed in an arched interior which is ornate and had the flowers in a free flowing manner.The central vase has the largest floral arrangement and birds have come to draw on the nectar.The deep blue gives a perfect foil to the delicately toned flowers and birds. The entire scene is enclosed in a floral border which in rich maroon.
