This is a classic handwoven Ersari carpet from Uzbekistan and is comprised of a beautiful palette of mellow and warm colours and a recurring gulli gul (flower) composition that is typical to the carpets of this region. Also known as Bukhara carpets with an 'elephant foot' design, these sophisticated carpets employ a rich range of icons that represent flowers and are unique to the different tribes that inhabit this region. The 18 guls in this field of flowers are framed by an elegant geometric border.
