- - The Garden of Gethsemane is a site of pilgrimage for Christians, located on the lower slopes of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. Gethsemane is most well known as the place where Christ and his disciples spent the night praying before the crucifixion. According to the Bible, Christ was so anguished in Gethsemane that his sweat appeared to be large drops of blood pouring to the ground.
