Head of a Man in Blue



Head of a Man in Blue emanates from Souza’s engagement and promulgation of the Redmond Theory, or the ‘R Theory’ as he sometimes called it. His paintings at this time reflected his belief that “nature is the sole principle”. He continued to refine this theory until his death in 2002. The present lot exemplifies his quest for a new variation of the human head, one exuding the features and ‘make up’ of a ‘Redmonite’.
