Mahatma Gandhi's classic autobiography.

The Story of My Experiments with Truth is a two-volume autobiography written by Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi. The first volume was originally published in 1927, and the second volume was published in 1929. The book is written in Gujarati, Gandhi's native language, and was later translated into English by Mahadev Desai.

The book chronicles Gandhi's life from his childhood in Porbandar to his experiences in South Africa as a young lawyer, and his involvement in India's struggle for independence. It also provides an insight into Gandhi's philosophical and spiritual beliefs, and the development of his concept of Satyagraha, which is a nonviolent method of civil disobedience.

It is widely regarded as one of the most important works of Indian literature and is considered a seminal text in the study of Indian history and culture. It has been translated into numerous languages and has influenced generations of readers and activists around the world. The book's emphasis on truth, nonviolence, and social justice has made it a source of inspiration for many leaders of social and political movements, including Martin Luther King Jr. and Nelson Mandela.

Gandhi's book remains a significant contribution to the study of Indian history and politics, and his life and philosophy continue to inspire people in their pursuit of peace, justice, and human rights.

First editions of both the volumes are found together only rarely.
