Selected from the complete Indian edition of Young India by Romain Rolland and Madeleine Rolland; Introduction by John Haynes Holmes; translated into German and with an afterword by Emil Roniger. The contents include - Before Non-cooperation; Non-cooperation; Indian questions; Against civil disobedience; Arrest and conviction.

Young India, was initially authored by Lala Lajpat Rai in 1916, and subsequently transformed into a Young Indian journal published by Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi founded and published the weekly periodical in English from 1919 to 1931 to spread the philosophy and principles of the Satyagraha Movement and urge readers to participate in it. By means of Young India, he disseminated his ideas, viewpoints, and reflections concerning the significance of nonviolence, organised social movements, and inspired readers to devise a course of action to secure India's eventual independence.
