Asit Kumar Haldar was a painter, sculptor, writer and poet who was an influential member of the Bengal School of Art. While his work was informed by his training in sculpture and his experience of documenting the murals and frescoes at Ajanta, he also incorporated elements from Rajput and Pahari miniatures.
