Author-signed presentation inscription to the title in honour of Mr. R.T. Greer.

The lettering from "Souvenir of the Royal Visit to Calcutta Presented by Maharaj-Kumar Sir Prodyot Coomar Tagore to" is printed on the album title page; the dedication is hand-written in ink. Inscribed "The Honourable Mr / R.T.Greer / With my kindest regards / Prodyot C. Tagore" on the title-page. Mr. R.T. Greer was the Deputy Commissioner of Darjeeling.

Johnston & Hoffmann's photographic documentation of the visit of Mary and the Prince of Wales (later George V) to Calcutta includes images of the illuminations, races, public entertainment, and the presentation of colours to the 1st Bn. King's Own (Royal Lancaster Regiment).
