Saraband is an arduous mountainous district in southwest Malayer in Iran. Mal Mir is one of villages of the district, whose name is given to local old carpet known as "Mir Saraband".

This is a classic carpet of this region, the central field comprises of neatly laid out motifs identified as "boteh miri" or the pine of Saraband against a dull orange. The peaceful rhythm of the central field is contrasted by the dynamism of the curvilinear trellis with bold geometric flowers inset in a white contrasting border.
