Kacker was born in 1965 in New Delhi. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, in 1988, and went on to train in ceramics and pottery. Kacker was born in 1965 in New Delhi. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi, in 1988, and went on to train in ceramics and pottery. Some of his solo exhibitions include “Figures in a Prayer Garden”, Sanskriti Kendra, New Delhi, in 1994; “Vineet Kacker / ShanthiSwaroopini Roy”, Queens Gallery, British High Commission, New Delhi in 1999; “Speaking in Sutras”, Nature Morte, New Delhi in 2004; “Spirit / Space”, Artists’ Centre, Mumbai
in 2005; “Vineet Kacker / Yushi Ito”, Anant Art Gallery, New Delhi in 2006; and “(R)evolution”, Museum Gallery, presented by the Fine Art Company, Mumbai, in 2008. His group shows include “Potters in Peril”, National Gallery of Modern Art, Mumbai in 2001; “Skin of Asias”, special exhibition curated for the International Ceramic Biennale, Icheon, South Korea in 2007; International Artists’ Exhibition, 4thEdgeArt Invitational, Izmir, Turkey in 2011; and in 2012, “Aham”, India Art Fair 2012, represented by Gallery Art Positive, New Delhi, and “Tatva”, exhibition of the International Ceramics Association, Red Earth, Baroda. Kacker has also received awards in recognition of his work, including the prestigious Charles Wallace Fellowship from the British Council, New Delhi, in 1998; the 'Dissemination Grant Award' by the India Foundation for the Arts, Bangalore in 2003, among others. He has lectured and taught extensively and has featured in a number of publications.
