The duo of Jiten Thukral and Sumir Tagra dabble in both fine and commercial art, design, production and application. "The production of Thukral & Tagra [as they have branded themselves] strives for a rootless cosmopolitanism, an instigation to infect all manner of communication with an unexpected sparkle, in the process making life more marvellous. This strategy, inherently democratic, allows for both the most rarified of products (the unique painting) to co-exist with the most humble (stickers and buttons given away for free). The present lot, an almost monochromatic diptych, offers a graphic representation of the two artists as their "signature video-game logo-types" surrounded by a tangled mass of motifs seen previously in the decals of their brand identity 'Bosedk', ranging from barstools and bananas to guns and gramophones. Through this cloud that seems on the verge of smothering them, the artists interrogate the notion of oversaturation - in production, consumption, and the images and goods we are constantly bombarded with.
