Born in Kolkata in 1965, Anandajit Ray completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at M. S. University, Baroda, in 1989 and 1991 respectively.

The total height of the installation is 51 in
(129.5 cm), and its diameter is 20.5 in (52
cm). The height of the base is 38.5 in (98
cm), and the height of the armour is 12 in
(30.5 cm)

From a limited edition of nine, however in each edition the fabric of the bricks is a different colour


This work comprises of the following:
a) An armour chest plate made of bronze
which rests suspended slightly above the
base on an iron rod
b) A base consisting of an inner PVC tube
covered with brick shaped pieces of foam
with satin finishing. The top of the base is
made of foam and sating covered plywood
c) A central iron rod which is placed
vertically through the work
