Signed and dated in pencil on the half-title page, “Nandalal Bose / 7.8.56" A souvenir of the exhibition held March-April 1954. The exhibition was held under the joint auspices of Santiniketan Asramika Sangha and Government College of Art and Crafts, Calcutta.One-page "Words of Blessing" by Rabindranath Tagore at the beginning, translated from Bengali by Somnath Maitra.

Brick-coloured card folder with printed title on cover and with flaps containing one sheet of descriptive notes and 6 sheets, each carrying one colour plate tipped in on one side only.

Size of each plate: 25 x 16 cm

1. Annunciation / 2. Renunciation / 3. End of Mortification / 4. Buddha's return from heaven / 5. Buddha and Ambapali / 6. Nirvana.

These were specially painted by Nandalal Bose for The Times of India and published by them. Of the six pictures contained in this folder four were first published in The Times of India Annual of 1940. In response to widespread requests from all over India and from several Buddhist centres of the world the folder was published by The Times of India in the present form.
