Kirtimukha (Kimpurusha) depicts the face of a fierce monster with huge fangs and broad mouth. This type of motif is used in Hindu temple architecture in India and Southeast Asia. These motifs are placed at the pinnacle of temples, deities and structures, especially in South Indian architecture. The demon-mask serves as a guardian figure. This Kirtimukha is a special cast in its finest form with a layer of patina.
