In the last two years, the artist has gone deeper and deeper in exploring the compositional possibilities and intricacies this subject matter allows. In this period, the artist has grown deeply fascinated by the idea of the shadow, and how its flat translucence plays with the sharpness of form…but the shadows are not scientific, thus their deployment is not in the standard perspective norms. Instead each shadow is primarily in dialogue with the figure which casts it, serving more as a space in which the artist can minimalise the figure further.
