William Carpenter

William Carpenter was born in 1818 to Margaret Sarah Carpenter, a professional portrait painter, and William Hookham Carpenter, who eventually became Keeper of the Prints and Drawings Department at the British Museum. He trained at Royal Academy Schools from 1835 onwards.
