Working with several renowned designers, the firm quickly established itself as one of the premier jewelry houses in the world. Such design partnerships continued through the 20th century, including those with Jean Schlumberger, Elsa Peretti and Paloma Picasso. In 1979, the firm was bought by Avon Products, but five years later, in 1984, was bought out by the management under Chairman William Chaney. Today, Tiffany & Co. operates in several countries, with over 100 retail locations.
