Born in 1978, Dilip Chobisa completed his B.V.A. and M.V.A. in Sculpture at the M. S. University, Baroda, in 2002 and 2004 respectively.

In 2006, the artist was part of ‘Disproportionately Accurate or Accurately Disproportionate?’ by RPG Academy of Art and Music, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; ‘No Square Circles’, Matters of Art, New Delhi; ‘12th Harmony Art Show’, Mumbai and in 2005 of ‘Sense N Blend’, Kaleidoscope Art Gallery, Baroda; ‘10th Harmony Show’, Mumbai.
Some recent projects are the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport Commission, Mumbai, in 2013; ‘Reliance Art Camp’, Mumbai, 2012; and an installation at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, in 2011.
Chobisa has been awarded Emerging Artist of the Year ‘Harmony Foundation Award’, Mumbai, in 2008. He has also participated in workshops such as Multimedia Art Camp, Udaipur, Rajasthan; Uttarayan Art Camp, Jaspur, Baroda; Onida Art Camp, Khandala, Mumbai, in 2007; Sandarb Workshop, Partapur, India in 2006; National Stone Carving Camp Org by W.Z.C.C. Udaipur in 2005; Young Baroda Wood Carving Camp organized by Dept. of Sculpture at Faculty of Fine Arts, Baroda in 2003; World’s biggest Painting Workshop organised by Reliance & Govt. of Gujarat, Ahmedabad in 1998.
The artist lives and works in Baroda.
